Job Summary:
The Strategic Account Director will manage a portfolio of key enterprise accounts, focusing on deepening relationships, driving customer success, and identifying opportunities for growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer success, product, and marketing, to ensure client satisfaction and account expansion. This role is ideal for an experienced account manager with a track record of managing high-value clients, building strategic partnerships, and delivering exceptional results in a B2B SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Client Relationship Management: Own and nurture relationships with key enterprise clients, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor. Develop a deep understanding of clients’ business goals and objectives and align our SaaS solutions to help them achieve success.
• Account Growth & Expansion: Identify opportunities for account expansion, including upselling and cross-selling our solutions. Collaborate with sales and product teams to tailor offerings and present value-driven proposals that align with customer needs.
• Customer Retention: Proactively manage and mitigate account risk, ensuring high customer satisfaction and minimizing churn. Develop and execute strategic plans to retain clients and ensure continued engagement with our products.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement customized account plans for each client, focusing on long-term partnerships, value delivery, and sustainable growth. Continuously monitor account health and adjust strategies as needed.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure seamless service delivery and successful execution of client objectives. Provide internal teams with feedback on client needs, product performance, and areas for improvement.
• Negotiation & Renewal Management: Lead contract renewal negotiations and ensure smooth renewals by building strong relationships and understanding each client’s evolving needs. Drive favorable contract terms while maintaining client satisfaction.
• Data-Driven Insights: Use data and analytics to track account performance, monitor key success metrics, and report on outcomes to both clients and internal stakeholders. Leverage insights to recommend account strategies and improvements.
• Customer Advocacy: Act as an advocate for your clients within the company, ensuring their feedback is heard and factored into product development and marketing strategies. Represent the voice of the customer in internal discussions to improve customer experience and product offerings.
• Executive Engagement: Engage with senior executives and key decision-makers at client organizations, presenting product roadmaps, partnership strategies, and business outcomes to ensure alignment at all levels.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-7+ years of experience in strategic account management, client success, or enterprise sales in a B2B SaaS environment, managing enterprise or key accounts.
• Proven track record of managing high-value accounts, driving revenue growth, and achieving account expansion goals.
• Strong understanding of SaaS business models and the ability to align products with client needs.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with C-level executives and key stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experience in handling complex renewals and expansions.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments, with experience in cross-functional project management.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to use insights and analytics to drive strategy and decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations to executive-level stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience managing large, complex accounts within industries such as [specific industries relevant to your product offerings].
• Knowledge of account planning tools and processes, and experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track customer interactions and performance metrics.
