We are seeking a results-driven SMB Account Executive to join our sales team and play a key role in acquiring and growing our SMB customer base.
Job Summary:
The SMB Account Executive is responsible for driving new business and growing revenue within the SMB segment. This individual will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals, focusing on identifying the right fit clients and demonstrating the value of our SaaS platform. The ideal candidate has experience selling to SMBs, is comfortable with high-velocity sales environments, and can thrive in a fast-paced, competitive landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and engage prospective SMB clients through outbound prospecting (cold calling, emailing, social outreach) and inbound lead follow-up. Qualify leads and set up discovery calls to understand client needs.
• Sales Presentations & Demos: Conduct product demonstrations to potential customers, clearly articulating the value of our SaaS solutions and how they solve the specific challenges SMBs face.
• Pipeline Management: Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach to closing, ensuring a robust and healthy sales pipeline. Use CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track and manage prospects, leads, and opportunities.
• Quota Attainment: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas by closing new business within the SMB market. Deliver consistent results by securing deals and expanding revenue.
• Solution Selling: Take a consultative approach to sales, understanding the customer’s needs, identifying challenges, and tailoring solutions that demonstrate how our software will drive measurable business impact.
• Negotiation & Closing: Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and work collaboratively with internal teams (e.g., legal, finance, and customer success) to close deals efficiently and with favorable terms.
• Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, customer success, and product teams to provide feedback on market trends, product development, and customer needs.
• Customer Onboarding & Handoff: Ensure a smooth handoff to the customer success team, assisting with onboarding and enabling a seamless experience for the customer post-sale.
• Market Insights: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and SMB challenges to better position the company’s product and value proposition.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, preferably selling to SMBs.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a high-velocity, transactional sales environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively engage SMB decision-makers.
• Strong understanding of the SMB market, their challenges, and how SaaS solutions can drive growth and efficiency.
• Experience managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals.
• Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement platforms.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and competitive sales environment.
Preferred Skills:
• Previous experience working in a SaaS startup or growth-stage company.
• Familiarity with SMB sales methodologies (e.g., consultative selling, solution selling).
• Experience selling software solutions into specific verticals relevant to the company’s product offering.
