Job Summary:
The Pre-Sales Manager will lead the pre-sales team, playing a critical role in driving revenue by supporting the sales team with technical expertise, product demonstrations, and the development of customized solutions for prospective clients. This role involves leading the technical discovery process, designing tailored solutions, and working collaboratively to ensure alignment between customer needs and the capabilities of our SaaS platform.
Key Responsibilities:
• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and lead the pre-sales team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure the team’s technical and consultative skills are at the highest level.
• Sales Support: Partner with the sales team to qualify opportunities, understand customer needs, and deliver tailored demonstrations, presentations, and proposals that effectively communicate the value of our SaaS platform.
• Technical Discovery & Solution Design: Lead the technical discovery process to understand the customer’s environment, challenges, and business goals. Design solutions that align with their needs, leveraging the full potential of our platform.
• RFP & Proposal Management: Manage and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring technical accuracy and the alignment of our product’s features and benefits with customer requirements.
• Product Demonstrations: Conduct engaging product demonstrations and technical deep dives for prospective clients, highlighting the unique value and capabilities of our SaaS platform.
• Solution Customization: Work closely with product and engineering teams to customize solutions where necessary, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of the customer.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product management, customer success, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on product positioning, messaging, and feedback on market needs.
• Technical Expertise & Training: Stay up-to-date on the latest product features and developments to serve as a product expert during the sales process. Provide regular training for the sales team on product capabilities and positioning.
• Customer Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with prospective customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.
• Process Optimization: Continuously improve pre-sales processes, tools, and materials to increase efficiency and effectiveness in driving revenue.
• Sales Pipeline Support: Actively support sales pipeline development through account qualification, product demonstrations, and technical validation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical sales role, preferably within a B2B SaaS company.
• Proven track record of managing and leading pre-sales teams with a focus on SaaS solutions.
• Strong understanding of SaaS products, technical architecture, and enterprise sales processes.
• Ability to design and present technical solutions that meet customer needs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience developing and mentoring pre-sales talent.
• Experience working with CRM and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically to drive deals forward.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in selling SaaS solutions to enterprise or mid-market customers.
• Familiarity with specific verticals or industries relevant to the company’s offerings.
• Knowledge of sales methodologies such as Solution Selling, Value Selling, or SPIN Selling.
