Job Summary:

The Pre-Sales Director will lead the pre-sales team, working closely with sales and product teams to deliver technical expertise and solution-based presentations to prospective customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the SaaS ecosystem, be able to articulate the business value of technical solutions, and demonstrate strong leadership skills. You will play a key role in driving sales success by delivering compelling demonstrations, creating detailed proposals, and ensuring technical feasibility in the sales process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Pre-Sales Engineers/Solution Consultants, providing guidance, training, and development to ensure the team’s success in supporting the sales process.

Solution Presentations: Lead solution discovery sessions and deliver tailored product demonstrations that address the specific needs of prospects, highlighting product benefits and technical features.

Sales Enablement: Collaborate with the sales team to create and deliver customized presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations. Provide technical expertise throughout the sales process, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.

Technical Validation: Ensure the technical feasibility of proposed solutions by working closely with the product and engineering teams. Address and resolve any technical challenges that may arise during the sales cycle.

Customer Engagement: Engage with prospective customers to understand their business challenges, technical environments, and needs, and tailor demonstrations to highlight how our solutions can solve their specific pain points.

Proposal Development: Work with the sales team to develop detailed proposals, including solution architectures, implementation plans, and pricing models that meet customer needs.

Collaboration with Product: Serve as a liaison between the sales team and product management, providing customer feedback and insights to influence the product roadmap and ensure customer needs are met.

Process Optimization: Continuously refine the pre-sales processes, ensuring efficient team collaboration and smooth transitions from the pre-sales to the post-sales process.

Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to better position the company’s products in the market and provide relevant insights during customer engagements.

Reporting & Metrics: Track pre-sales team performance, including win rates, deal velocity, and customer feedback. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on team performance and opportunities for improvement.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of experience in pre-sales, solutions consulting, or a technical sales role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position within a B2B SaaS company.

• Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing pre-sales team.

• Strong understanding of SaaS business models, cloud architecture, and enterprise technology solutions.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical features into business benefits.

• Experience with CRM and sales enablement tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

• Results-oriented with a proven track record of supporting successful sales cycles and driving revenue growth.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in specific industries relevant to the company’s product offerings (e.g., FinTech, Healthcare, etc.).

• Familiarity with common sales methodologies such as Challenger Sales, Solution Selling, or SPIN Selling.

• Knowledge of relevant technical frameworks, such as API integrations, security, and data privacy compliance.
