Job Summary:

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be responsible for driving the company’s commercial strategy, overseeing sales, marketing, and customer success, and leading efforts to maximize revenue growth. You will develop and implement strategic plans to achieve ambitious growth objectives, align cross-functional teams, and expand the company’s market presence. The CCO is a key member of the executive leadership team and will work closely with the CEO, product, and finance teams to ensure long-term profitability and scalability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and execute the company’s overall commercial strategy, aligning sales, marketing, and customer success efforts to drive sustainable revenue growth.

Revenue Growth: Own and drive all revenue-related functions, including sales, partnerships, business development, and customer success, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives.

Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor high-performing sales, marketing, and customer success teams, fostering collaboration and accountability. Develop strategies to scale the teams as the company grows.

Sales & Marketing Alignment: Ensure close alignment between sales and marketing to optimize lead generation, customer acquisition, and market positioning. Oversee the development and execution of go-to-market strategies.

Customer Success & Retention: Collaborate with the customer success team to improve client retention, upsell, and cross-sell strategies. Focus on maximizing customer lifetime value (CLTV) and reducing churn.

Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, including product expansion, geographic expansion, and vertical market penetration to drive top-line growth.

Partnerships & Alliances: Identify and manage strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance revenue streams, including reseller agreements, channel partnerships, and joint ventures.

Product-Market Fit: Collaborate with the product and R&D teams to ensure the company’s offerings meet market demand and customer needs. Provide market feedback and insights to guide product development and innovation.

Financial Performance & Forecasting: Work closely with the CFO to forecast revenue growth, manage the P&L, and ensure the company’s financial objectives are met. Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed commercial decisions.

Executive Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to overall company strategy, growth planning, and leadership decision-making.

Reporting & Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs for sales, marketing, and customer success to measure and improve performance. Regularly report on progress to the CEO and board of directors.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

• 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles within sales, marketing, or commercial functions, with at least 5 years in a B2B SaaS environment.

• Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth in a high-growth SaaS company, including experience with scaling commercial teams.

• Strong understanding of SaaS business models, including customer acquisition, retention, and expansion strategies.

• Experience building and leading cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and customer success, with a focus on collaboration and accountability.

• Demonstrated success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

• Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and act on complex business data.

• Experience working with executive leadership and presenting to boards of directors.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in scaling SaaS businesses from startup to mid-market or enterprise levels.

• Knowledge of international market expansion, with a proven ability to execute global growth strategies.

• Expertise in pricing models, competitive analysis, and SaaS growth levers such as upsell/cross-sell strategies and customer segmentation.
